APPROVALS

The Marulan Quarry project has been identified as a State Significant Development by the NSW Government. This designation is not development consent; it means the project is assessed through the State Significant Development approval pathway.

As part of the environmental assessment process, a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was prepared and publicly exhibited for review by the community, government agencies and other stakeholders.

The EIS includes technical studies, assessments and reporting on key issues including safety, noise, traffic, air quality, biodiversity, heritage and social impacts. The EIS also includes proposed management measures to help minimise potential impacts during both the construction and operational phases of the project.

The EIS exhibition period has now closed. Submissions have been received from the community, agencies and other stakeholders, and Global Quarries has prepared a Response to Submissions and provided further information as part of the Department’s assessment process.

The Exhibition Notice, Scoping Report, SEARs, EIS documents, submissions, Response to Submissions, Agency Advice and Additional Information can be viewed on the NSW Planning Portal.

Key stakeholders and the local community have been engaged throughout the project. Global Quarries will continue to provide project information during the assessment process and respond to issues raised through submissions, agency advice and stakeholder engagement.

The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is currently assessing the application under the State Significant Development process. Further steps, including recommendation and determination, will occur in accordance with the statutory planning process.

The project remains subject to assessment and has not yet been determined.
